The name "Hamngården" roughly translated in English means "the harbour cottage". Centrally located in the south-east region of Skane called "Österlen", Hamngården offers 8 double-rooms with comfortable beds. All the rooms have private fully-tiled bathrooms with floor-heating, shower, WC and basin. The rooms that we offer here have no sea-view but some rooms at Hamngården are facing the sea and two of them also have a balcony. In case you prefere sea-view please contact us directly, www.hamngarden.com. There you will also find more pictures and information.
In the mornings you can enjoy a large breakfast buffet in a rustic lounge with a panoramic view over the harbour and sea. On gray and chilly days we light a fire in the fireplace. However, on nice and warm summer mornings, most guests prefere to sit on the terrace enjoying the sunrise over the sea.
During the summer Brantevik is bustling with life. Every week there is a jazz-concert when famous artists perform. Most evenings you can listen to live music and dance in the Summer Restaurant in the harbour close by. The surroundings of Brantevik also offer wonderful areas for recreation and if you fancy going to sea you can go sailing on the lovely sailing yacht "Hoppet" (The Hope), a newly built replica of a traditional vessel.
At a distance of 5 km you will find "Simrishamn", which is a nice town and the largest community of the region. Österlen, often called "the Provence of Sweden", is exceptionally restorative and beautiful, inspiring to various types of recreational activities. It is also known for its gardens and extensive cultivations of fruit, especially apples, and for its very long and shelving beaches of white sand. Here you will also find many old buildings and historical sites, even some mysterious ones dating even futher back than the Vikings.
